Change Management and Partnership Support

  • Acting as a critical friend to organisations and partnerships facing change, working with them to develop solutions that work for them
  • Identifying strengths and assets and building on them
  • Identifying and overcoming blockages
  • Assisting clients to see their role within a big picture and in so doing increase their ability to face the future
  • Developing the capability to strengthen change

Our work often involves helping clients to come to terms with irksome realities and to focus on what they can do best. Some examples include:

After our earlier evaluation of RISE, a learning partnership involving providers and adult learner across South East Wales, Martin Yarnit was commissioned to work with them on a Development Plan that reflects both the founding principles of the organisation and the objectives of the Welsh Assembly Government and its key agencies. The focus was on enabling the partnership to respond to the challenge of worklessness and low qualification levels in the Valleys and Newport. An action plan has now been agreed by the partners and stakeholders and they are currently involved in implementation. Presentation

Following an evaluation of the Childcare services run by NELM the New Deal for Community Partnership in Norwich we worked alongside the Childcare Manager and the Support Functions Manager to plan for the future of the services. This involved a full options analysis, review of budget and work with partners to develop the transition to a sustainable service.

Liz Cousins provided ongoing support to Volunteering Nottinghamshire through a period of change and challenge facing the entire voluntary sector as a service provider on behalf of government. In particular, her role was to stimulate the development of a consensus about ways forward built on a shared view of principles and objectives.

Facilitating Conferences, Seminars and Information Exchanges

As experienced teachers and trainers both Martin Yarnit and Liz Cousins are able to work with clients to plan an event or series of workshops which will effectively communicate with an audience and achieve the desired objectives. We can help our clients to

  • Identify clear objectives and devise activities which produce the results you need
  • Plan and organise stimulating and relevant conferences and seminars
  • Draw on our wide ranging contacts to involve stimulating and pertinent speakers
  • Facilitate workshops and conferences
  • Support website information exchanges

Examples include

Over 96% of those attending Learning Champions Conference we organised and facilitated for NIACE in 2008 rated it as excellent or good. The conference aimed to raise the profile of learning champions with LSPs, the LSC and RDAs, to act as information exchange of effective practice and look at ways of improving Learning Champion schemes.

As part of the work MYA did for emda on Tackling Worklessness and Social Exclusion we planned and facilitated an expert seminar which brought the ESP and its partners in the region together with national experts in the field to hear about and debate best practice in collaborative delivery to counter worklessness and inequality.

To launch the ep2 programme we planned and facilitated an event for over 100 participants in Nottinghamshire in 2008.
